Pattern Making Flask in Wood for Foundry Metal Casting

A two piece wooden flask for use in a machine workshop or foundry to cast large metal components for industrial manufacturing. It was a highly skilled trade to create these essential items. The petterns themselves now largely replaced by the 3D printing process, these historical artefacts remain as testimony to the history of workshops and artisan abilities in the Industrial Age.
